Users attach their iPhone to a Kendo target in a secure position to prevent contact, then initiate training sessions. The app features a countdown that begins with clear traffic signals, but the green light appears after a random delay, necessitating quick responses.

Upon successfully hitting the target, Kendo Dummy provides immediate feedback on reaction speed and records the best time for each session. It also enables users to compete within a group or class setting by displaying their performance metrics, with improved times highlighted in green to motivate progress.

The application leverages the motion sensors of the iPhone or iPod to detect impact, accommodating various setups such as placing the device on a table, propping it against an object, or securing it with velcro to a target surface. Its responsiveness is notably effective when properly positioned.

An intuitive user interface minimizes complexity, featuring a setup screen accessed via the 'i' button. This allows users to calibrate sensitivity levels for trigger detection and adjust the random delay duration for the countdown. The app automatically resets after each hit, streamlining repeated training without manual intervention, and includes a reset option for clear performance tracking. While designed for ease of use, Kendo Dummy maintains high accuracy and utility for dedicated practice sessions.
